What to do with bad shifters on bike?

Hello fellow RFDers!

My wife got a nice bike for our son from a garage sale. Unfortunately it turned out that the (Shimano sis STI) shifters do not work well. The rear one only goes through 6 of the 7 gears, and the front one is stuck on the lowest.

If you know where I can fix or replace them for cheap (it is RFD after all), please let me know.
I'm in Richmond Hill, ON.

Thank you!

I don't know. The rear one is pretty precise (except not going all the way to the last gear), but the front one feels broken.
Still, I'll check it out. Thank you.

We needed to replace the Shimano shifters on my wife's mountain bike (circa 1994).
Obviously Shimano no longer produces the vintage units that came with her bike.
The guys @ CyclePath in Markham replaced them with new shifters ... total cost for it was about $80.
