What to do with broken lawn mower?

Our old Lawn Boy has just died and we will have to buy a new one. The biggest question is, what are we going to do with the old one? Are lawn mower recyclable? Are there places that take broken items like that?

Ask for 10 bucks (just to weed out the freebie lurchers)

This is assuming you dont want to try to repair it.

You have to try, once in your life, to put something for free on Kijiji...

How do you know I have never put something out for free? I've done it many times.

@Rocking23NF, I don't mind one way or the other... just never thought someone would want a broken mower. If charging $10 will ensure a taker I definitely will try it. Thanks!

Put it on Kijiji for free, but in the ad state your address and that you will leave the mower on the front lawn by the curb and it is first come, first serve. Someone will get it within an hour for sure.

I always try to give away my stuff on Kijiji first because it may potentially keep it out of the landfill. If someone is willing to fix it (or just use it if it's old and functional) I'd rather do that then recycle it.

I've had people who walked kilometers to pick stuff up to people that drove in high-end vehicles (Porsche Cayenne) for the free items. It's truly a mixture of people.

there is freecycle and fullcircle. People who use these are pretty good at picking up what they say they will take. Lots of people use the old mowers for parts to fix others. That said, put it at the curb with free sign. I've done that with piles of scrap metal. Gone in no time flat
