What to do in Mississauga?

Grabbed a hotel with friends on Argentia Road and we were trying to figure out what to do this weekend.

Any good pubs? Good sushi? Ramen? Craft brewery?
Anything interesting todo locally or just head to Toronto.
Best way to get downtown Toronto from there - prefer not to drive down?

Why did you choose to stay so far out?

Drive to a closer Go Station such as Port Credit or Cooksville, and then grab the GO.

There are 3 GO Train stations near Argentia depending on which end, check the schedules for the Milton line. Mississauga is a good foodie place for ethnic fare of all types - depends on your taste. The review sites are your friend . .

Mississauga is truly the most boring place and you chose the most boring industrial area to get a hotel. There will be no GO trains if you are going to Toronto at night so prepare for a 3 hour trip by bus.

Change your hotel and stay in Port Credit if you have to (Waterside Inn) or drive to Port Credit station. Lots of nice patios/bars/restaurants around there and there tends to always be something going on. If not jump on the Go train and you will be at Union Station in 20 mins.

Mississauga May be Canada’s 6th biggest City (and Ontario’s 3rd, behind Toronto & Ottawa) but it most definitely is suburbia / a Bedroom community. So beyond the villages of Streetsville & Old Port Credit, not a lot happening in the Big M. When most folks think of Mississauga it’s cause of the Square One Shopping Centre (2nd largest Mall in Canada, behind the West Edmonton Mall)

Did you get the Hilton at Mississauga Rd & Argentia? If so, Chop is a pretty good steakhouse with a really nice patio right outside the hotel. Union Social is a pretty nice restaurant/pub that is nearby as well. A 10-minute drive away in different directions are Laari Adda and Guru Lukshmi, which are both very popular South Asian restaurants. The GO bus stops right outside the hotel and takes about 40 minutes to get from there to Union Station downtown.

Lived in Mississagua for 7-8 years in the last decasde.

They have it there, none of those are the greatest in Mississauga.

Take Go Train or Go Bus to Downtown. It is not a long ride, but I always drive, unless you plan on drinking, then don't.

Only thing I can think of is Square One, But I guess you don't shop with a group of friends. At least I don't.
You can biking along Lakeshore, the view is great there. At night, maybe strip club, lol
