Do what i do just make ISO images and store them on a large external hard drive, but my hard drive just died so I am screwed.
I am in between a rock and a hard place, either I rely on DVD to back everything up and live with scratched up and missing disks, or get another HD and take the risk of another failure.
Of course the logical answer is to do both, but I bought a new HD so I did not have to archive sh*t every weekend.
Anyways the end result is that I lost all my porn, I am sure you feel no sympath for me, but all my friends shed a tear and ran home to backup all their porn when they heard my hardluck story. Is god punishing me? Is there a god? all these questions burning me like a thousand flames. I am watching devils advocate on TV and it just opened the floodgates of hell for me.

What to do when you loose your disks
Ok i am sure everyone of us have done it but im p.oed at my hubby/family for doing it..
The other day my netwrok 3 + computers got hit hard with some virus (still have no clue what as it never detected) so needless to say reformating was the only way to go and of course i dont have backups so i went to reinstall all my stuff and guess what im missing a mess load of disks.. Im missing my xp prof disk but of course i found the junkie xp home disk and i cant find my microsoft office disk with front page but of course i can find the junk disk office 2003 ( the ones i found were my husbands before we married)
So needless to say im upset because my disks are gone missing and i want my frontpage in the worst way. I can deal with xp home but cant live without frontpage and i refuse to go spend another 200$ on a program i alreay bought once
What do you do when you loose/break program disks

I'm a bit confused. Do you still have the key codes? If so, borrow disks from someone else, install and put in your key codes. Be sure to backup a copy for yourself.

I have copies of every CD/DVD I own and all the files on my hard drives are backed up regularly on external hard drives.

lol, this thread now becomes a place where people show how much/what porn they have
Back to the topic, if you still have your key, download/borrow a copy and stick your key in.

Right now, the best thing to do is to download the ISO's off BT. As long as you have your own keys, then it should be ok.
This won't help you right now, but if you don't want to go around trying to find your disks and such the next time this happens, Ghost your hard drive after everything is setup. Then all you need to do is restore your drive with Norton Ghost.

you have several options but the previous posters all offer great advice.
* keep a large capacity HDD (external models since you have to backup 3 computers / create an independent partition for each computer)
* create *.iso of your software or backup each disc and store them in a safe place (take photos of your COA & serials)
* scan for malware regularly & defrag your drives. regular maintenance keeps the bugs away...remember to set system restore points whenever you're installing/downloading new changes to your computer
* if all else fails you can try data recovery (even after a fresh format). unless your HDD is fried, you still have a chance to recover your data or restore your drive. invest in a good consumer program and it will pay dividends because taking it to a professional will cost at least 5x to 10x more
* if all else fails (part 2), ask your friends for help. this is preferable to downloading unknown files; since you own COA on your original purchase make sure to confirm with that software maker that your reinstall is valid

Ask the IT dudes at your work for a disc, and try your CD keys with it. If you don't have CD keys..hmm..then its basically resort to piracy, unless you have a name-brand PC then you might be able to find recovery CDs that restore all your software including the OS.
