You only make 90k as a ATC? Ha, where do you control? In the bush?

Isn't that starting wage for VFR?
Thinking he meant a Financial Controller and not Air Traffic ...

I'm still trying to figure out how controllers are only getting paid 90k. A lot of senior accountants I know already make 80k or 75k+bonus. Is this a really small company?

The controller at my last job earned $100K (and she was in late 50's - so decades into her career). I still thought she was overpaid lol.

She stayed there for a long time? Makes no sense that it's this low.

I don't know, that seems in line with available metrics (if you trust them).

Payscale
Indeed
Glassdoor

Glassdoor shows them a bit higher on average, but the scale goes from 82K all the way to 170K. It looks like the Controller position has a big range of pay nationwide...

Based on payscale, controller makes 75k.....I'm an associate and I make 62k (I'm lowest paid in my private sector department)... makes no sense.

Based on glassdoor it's 130k....this I can understand.

At the end of the day, your pay Money Bag like your age is just a number. All that matters is what you are getting out of your life and how much you are enjoying it.
Isn't it great to live in the 21st century where deleting history has become more important than making it.

$100K isn't low. That's the point. It is only low on RFD lol. She's overpaid for her position and she probably knows it (really a designated accountant isn't required to manage the finances for an architect firm with 12 employees - that is the only place I've ever seen it). They could hire someone for $50-$55K to do her same job.

You do realize your pay is in relation/compensation to your experience, right?

I'm still under a year as a controller and I moved into this role from a FA. It's not underpaid - give it 2-3 doing what I'm doing and I'll have the title, experience, and tenure to justify +130k.

The market doesn't magically reward people based on a title - it's all about experience. Believe me, I'm happy making ~90k because I'm only 30, getting the exposure I need to be a CFO in ~5 years, and I was hired into this role (not promoted) - meaning, someone gave me a chance.

There's a lot going on in the job market; your responsibility as an employee/job seeker is to maintain and develop relevant skills in a changing market. Your rational is screams entitlement; I suggest you do research.
