Helping interpret a friend's credit report and there's a Canadian Tire Bank Card that has comments "Cancelled account/non-derog rating" from Transunion. But the payment history all look clean (0 late payments)...is non-derog just some type of standard comment when an account is closed? (my friend doesn't remember when or if she closed the account).

"non-derog rating" means, obviously, "non-derogatory rating", which means, the account was in good standing - no past due no late payments.

The whole string "Cancelled account/non-derog rating" is just a standard message that shows up that says your account was in good standing before it was closed. Nothing to worry.

+1

This is the exact same thing my Visa account says, after it was closed back in 2007 due to inactivity.
Nothing to worry about, it's not a negative mark.
