So...I'm not sure what sort of suggestions I will get from this but I would like to do something really special for my fiancee as it's her Birthday tomorrow...unfortunately she has been in the hospital the last two weeks and will still be there until next week...so she can't exactly have a party and a cake...or flowers...or just about anything...
She is on the mend now so not in a lot of pain but do you guys think I should get her presents in the hospital or wait until she gets home? Give her photo's of her presents if it's too big to bring in? She is mostly bedridden at the moment and can just shift around the room.
Her present's kind of suck in the "opening instant gratification" kind of way (think excellent gift cards n what not).
Anyone ever spend their birthday in the hospital? what would you have appreciated?

why not plan something with the staff that is taking care of her.. you can still have a surprise birthday celebration with cake and balloons.. perhaps. (or maybe I've been watching too much TV)

Well..she can't eat and the staff is far too busy to do anything like that..._______________

If the giftcards are for a store. Take a picture of the store front and present that to her and tell her that she just won a $100 shopping spree to blah blah blah. :razz: I know make it into a gameshow!!!! That should be uber-fun and creative. She will appreciate the effort you put in to entertain her. That's the best idea. :razz:

I bought her a portable dvd player last week but she hasn't shown any interest in it, no tv in the room._______________

How about a pair of nice quality headphones? If she is spending time in the bed a lot then it would be a good choice so that she can pass her time listening to music through whatever audio player that she may have.

She's gained 30 pounds of waterweight (30% of her bodymass), hasn't bathed in days and has tubes coming out of literally every hole in her body....not exactly feeling in too social of a mood ya know....

Still, the gameshow idea is fun and quick to setup. Just Google pics of the stores that you got the giftcards for and print them out. This way you can use the gifts that you already got and dressing them up in a thoughtful manner._______________

I really have no ideas for you but wanted to wish you luck anyways. I woulda reccomended an ipod or something because like was mentioned earlier, music or anything to pass the time might not be a great Bday present, but still appreciated.
Find a nice picture of you and her together and go get it framed and set it next to her bed so she knows you are there even when your not.. Meh
