Wow it's really hard to pick one but I'll go with the World Ends With You - Nintendo DS. The soundtrack, gameplay, plot, character development and design were all fantastic.

(And I'm a huge, Metal Gear and Zelda fan...)

1. Defender/Stargate
2. Doom Series (LAN mode was totally killer ...pardon the pun)
3. Metal Slug Series

Hello
My vote goes to Super Mario World for the SNES. It took everything learned from the NES Mario games and added a certain level of depth and complexity by introducing Yoshi. The graphics also still hold up to this day, and haven't aged quite as bad as the NES versions of Mario.

Almost impossible question to answer. A much more fair way to do it would be by generation.

So as far back as I have the memory to reasonably judge:

Second: Pac Man
Third: Legend of Zelda and Super Mario 3
Fourth: Chrono Trigger
Fifth: Metal Gear Solid, Super Mario 64, and Zelda Ocarina of Time
Sixth: Halo 2 (though really, I think this might be the weakest generation of all time)
Seventh: Skyrim and The Last of Us
Eigth: The Witcher

Warcraft 3 TFT was an expansion of an RTS game (Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos)
DotA was a custom game made using the map editor in WC3, it became so popular that it was spun off into DotA 2, one of the most popular games out there today.

But DotA it is not the same as WC3

Probably super Mario 64. Super Mario World is also a good answer.

For the modern generation, Bloodborne is a personal favorite.

Super Mario All-Stars

I would generally say super mario 3 is my favourite ever, but I love the improved graphics on the SNES version. So you may as well include the entire catridge which includes Mario 1, 2, 3, Lost Levels (and on some versions also includes world).
