Well.. if you've been applying for months and months and nothing has come up, I would go for it.. When the economy comes up from the water a little, I would leave. How long is that internship anyways?

Yea I understand that perspective however at least a stippend or some sort of honorarium should be promised. At least cover traveling cost, gast cost, meals and some sort of honorarium at the end of the term. Something at least to cover costs or rent, at least.

Exactly!
When I started off with my first job as a IT Tech I made $8/hour!! but! I didn't care. Like my Father always says, once your foot is in the door, then you're set. And since then, I have always been able to find a job easily.
So, if you're into marketing, then either you can join Bell and become this Strategic Marketing Intelligence person or you can go work at Wal-Mart as a store clerk or something.
The company shouldn't have to offer you anything, their letting you be a Marketing Intellect right out of school. This will look awesome on your resume. Especially the fact that you will be doing it for free, it will give other companies the impression that you truly love doing this.
This will give you the opportunity to put your foot in the marketing door. Once your foot is placed there, then no one can close it. Slowly you will gain confidence and knowledge that is needed for real life work in the marketing department. From there you can work your way up the ladder.
So its your choice, either you work towards your future, or you work as a minimum wage wal-mart dude or something.
Yea capitalism sucks. But think of it this way, this is your ticket in gaining real life work experience. When you go to school, you expect to pay them for education, think of this the same way. You are now going to school where you will learn real-life work experience that can be used in a resume.
I have heard maybe a hundred times on this forum that degrees and masters are just papers that acknowledge that you CAN learn to do X type of job. It is work experience that defines whether you have actually done such a job or not.

Tons of these unpaid internships are popping left, right and center. Unfortunately this year though co-ops are having a super hard time finding jobs. I've been talking to the co-op coordinator and ton's of people don't have jobs yet just cause there aren't enough to go around. By all means though I have little respect for large corporations that do not even offer a stipend/honorarium as well.

Well, like the other person said, there are people out there who care more for work experience than money. If there are people out there willing to work for free to gain experience, that gives corporations the option to not pay at all.
I don't think its good either, but welcome to crapitalism. They want to make money too, so if they can hire someone to do work for free...then they will.

I might apply...I think the deadline still has not passed.
It's either this, or volunteering research for my prof. Either way no money, and I would actually prefer to have Bell on my resume than some random prof's name, even though my prof is actually well known in his field...
for me experience > money, call me lucky but I can afford not to make money during the summer, experience is always more important...

Exactly, work there for a while and then find another job that does pay. You will have a much easier time finding a job when you have real work experience on your resume than just a degree.
In fact, work for Bell for a little while for free and if you do good enough of a job, they may just decide to pay you.
I got my first IT job all thanks to High School CCNA Co-Op program. I did work experience at an IT company and then they called me in the summer to work with pay. And I didn't even have to go through a interview, they already knew I was good thanks to the work experience I did.
So to be able to get such a position right out of school is a very good opportunity to gain valuable experience that will pay off in the future.

I would do it but then I'm financially secure, have only a basic education in ArcGIS, and would likely quit half way though when I've learned as much as I'm going to.

I would go with Timmies. I can't work for a company I hate oh so very much. At least Timmies gives me money to pay tuition.
