Thats a good idea, albeit ambitious. It will be hard to get everyone to use it. More power to you though.

What Is A Hot Deal?
WHAT IS A HOT DEAL GUYS?
I've seen NUCLEAR hot thrown around like it's nothing and various other hot adjectives being applied to mediocre deals at best. We've got to moderate our use of these oh so powerful adjectives. My proposition is to create a graduated system of evaluating the HOT value of a deal. If the deal is $0 after MIR, it's the ultimate because any cheaper and it would be a freebie and not a deal. I therefore propose:
LEVEL 10 ($0 after MIR, CHEAPEST POSSIBLE) = SUPERNOVA HOT!!!
LEVEL 9 (over 90% off + NO MIR) = SURFACE OF THE SUN (SOTS) HOT!!!
LEVEL 8 (over 90% off after MIR) = NUCLEAR HOT!!!
LEVEL 7 (over 70% off) = LAVA HOT!!!
LEVEL 6 (over 70% off after MIR) = SMOLDERING HOT!!!
LEVEL 5 (over 50% off) = FLAMING HOT!!!
LEVEL 4 (over 30% off) = BURNING HOT!!!
LEVEL 3 (over 50% off YMMV) = SIZZLING HOT!!!
LEVEL 2 (over 30% off YMMV) = HOT!!!
LEVEL 1 (Good buy, compared to a few stores) = Warm
Thoughts, Suggestions???

I think you need a level beyond Supernova when you manage to score a deal that you get paid more from the MIR than you paid for the product. Maybe something like End of the Universe Hot.

I have just received a good suggestion that there may be a possibility of a CASH BACK after rebate deal although this is just a mythical beast in the land of bargain hunting (WITHOUT USING DISCOUNTED GIFT CARDS). Thus, I propose the institution of an emergency hot term to be used should any of these deals ever arise. It will be called:
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I think the creation of matching icons would help with the adoption of this scale.

These "0 after MIR" deals can't always have the same adjective, depending of the TAXE(s) you must pay before the MIR.
Some times, even if it's supposed to be "free", it's not such a deal...
The "temperature" of the deal also depends of the shipping charge. Can make a biggg diffference.
For the "get paid for a deal", my suggestion is: ULTIMATE deal.Last edited by duster; Nov 7th, 2006 at 08:40 AM.

this scale isnt that good because how hot a deal is can depend on what the product is. sometimes 10-15% off is hot if the item rarely ever does down in price.
