Doesn't Apple give customers sealed boxes?

...lol

that seal may be removed with a pair of tweezers and a hairdryer.
They don't shrink wrap the box anymore.

I believe the fone serial number is on the receipt when they scan it and customer makes the purchase. So even if the kid scammed apple they can lock the phone. As others said it just creates an overpriced paperweight. Other conclusion, Apple has a thief employed at the store. Lesson learned... now when you buy a phone at apple have the sales staff open the box in front of you before leaving.

We should start a game where you link to an interesting thread from years ago, which links to another interesting thread from years ago, etc. See how long you can keep a reader hooked :D .

im surprised they just replaced the phone just like that.
i wouldn't believe a customer if they did that. I would be like, I don't believe you, you clearly switched it out.... and let them call corporate head office and make a complaint.

i really dont believe that if u bought the phone at apple legit, then it would be in there.

I don't have an Apple phone, but if it ever connects to wifi or data and checks if its blacklisted IMEI, it might brick itself?

This is one of the reason we're paying over $1,200 for a phone these days.

Sorry..but does someone have a gun to your head to pay $1200? There are hundreds of cheaper phones.

No, but that doesn't change the fact, that a new flagship phone is $1200. Apple kills older versions of iphones by software upgrades. Also, now Android doesn't run that smooth on older phones - Google is the race for high end phones now, so it's not easy to keep up with the upgrade.

How much would this wifi/hotspot device get the scammer? and is it worth the scam?
