what laptop to buy

my kid is joining bcom in McMaster and I want to get her a laptop. should I get a chromebook or windows 10 based one?
what kind of configuration is suited best and not expensive.
if you dont have an answer, dont repond to my thread.
I need answers, and thats why i use redflagdeals forums.

MacBook Air. Super light weight, very reliable.
It got me through my 4 years of undergrad, without a single hiccup.

If you have money get Macbook. I don't even have one and I want it so bad even though I can afford it lol.

I don't have an experience with Chromebook but I am happy with Windows 10. Also if you're looking for a laptop, I'd be more concerned with it being solid and sturdy so it doesn't accidentally break when your kid is moving between classes and home. It's possible to find a well built laptop at a decent price with Windows 10 installed. Currently I have an Asus with hardware specs that I like; but if I had to carry this around all the time, I wouldn't feel too confident.

+1 for macbook air but its $$$
Get win 10 laptop with min 4..ideal 8 gb of ram...
Dont buy one with harddrive...get solid state drive SSD

I saw 3 diff models around 700to900 range at staples with ssd.

Macbook Air is the only one that'll retain performance (without reformatting and tinkering) and likely last the full term of her education
