Kubo and the Two Strings

Very well done family film. Doesn't talk down to kids so will appeal to adults as well.

I've seen all of the following at TIFF so far and haven't been disappointed yet.

Free Fire - 1970s set action movie set almost entirely in a warehouse. Reminescent of Resevoir Dogs.

Lady Macbeth - Dark and disturbing English period drama. Yikes!

The Limehouse Golem - Victorian-era murder mystery. It really captured the atmosphere of the period well.

The Belko Experiment - Battle Royale meets The Office. Extremely violent and a blast to watch.

Nocturnal Animals - Dark and twisty thriller. Very stylish with an interesting message.

Paris Can Wait - Light and fluffy romantic comedy/drama. Beautiful scenery and some amazing food porn shots.

Arrival - A mix between Contact, Interstellar, & Gravity, but with much less action and a lot more hushed talking. Worth watching though.

Lion - Incredible. Reduced the audience to tears. Probably my favourite movie of the year so far. Definite Oscar contender.

I'm a little surprised that more GTA RFDers don't take advantage of TIFF, one of the top film festivals in the world in our own backyard.

Clint, Hanks. Enough said. LOL

I didn't love how the story is told but Fassbender nails the role and it's worth watching just for that

I guess "Snowden" was ok. Was expecting a re-hash of Glenn Greenwald's book "No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA, and the U.S. Surveillance State", but it's not.

Curious how this thread follows very closely the releases, well after the theatre dates.

I saw Field of Dreams last week at one of Cineplex 's Classics series showings and it still holds up as a unique little film and one of the best Kevin Costner films.

I would give my life to protect your right to say something really funking stupid.

Respect your OP's. They don't get paid to do this, and don't have to come here to post their deals for you. They can all just hoard their deals in silence, if you prefer?
