What to look for in a single room humidifier?

Don't think I need to spend more than $50 if I'm just getting a single room humidifier but what should I look for? Cool or warm mist humidifier etc and what type is best for Canada (dry winters)?

I do not think you need to speed more than $ 50 for getting a humidifier. All kinds of humidifier in this website http://www.wonderfulbuy.com/aromatherap ... -c120.html cost less than $ 50. I think most of them will have good performance on increasing humidity (moisture) in a single room. If you are looking for a humidifier that works quiet, you should consider to have warm mist humidifier. Generally speaking, the cool mist model is slightly noisier than warm one. However, it terms of security, a cool mist humidifier is much safer than warm one, since a warm mist humidifier has hot water present in the tank as well as a hot heating element, this type of humidifier has an added safety risk.
