I wear a blue suit, so I stand out in a crowd of black/grey suits.

Hats off Sylvestre.
Well said.
I do hope some of the new and not so new job applicants took the time to read your post.
I usually look for someone who can fit into my Team. Does not have to be the smartest person out there, or the most knowledgable.
I like eye contact and if they always tell the truth without reaching. Easier for me to accept they don't know the answer (we don't know everything), but they should know the basics.
I hate it when applicants tell me they have their little note book to refer to. I like them to understand the concept and run with it from there. Books will NEVER teach you what to expect in the real world (as in a JOB).
I can write a book as so I believe Sylvestre, but we are trying to keep it real here folks.
Don't lie on your resume. I catch it - leaves a bad feeling.
Be presentable. Leave the gum and cell outside of the interview. Get there on time.

Good tip about the Gum. When I started out, I didn't know having gum was a faux-pas for an interview. Luckily the receptionist at the front desk told me and I got rid of it

Get involved in school clubs. i.e. commerce society, accounting society, etc.
That means being an exec, committee chair, etc. - not just being a member. Employers like extracurricular activities a lot and you also gain skills and handle responsibilities beyond what you could at a part time job.
