BA don't usually make $150K. Well not with a BA title probably Consultant title they make 75K - 100K max

BA is a fairly generic title as there are tons of different BAs depending on the day to day function.
In today's job market. A typical BA with a few years experience will make ~65K
A more specialized BA like a Business Systems Analyst or a Business Marketing Analyst will make Probably 75K-85K
The good part about being a BA is if you are good at what you do, its usually pretty easy to find a job since most large companies are usually looking for em.
Our dept is 6 Business Analyst's each with their different strengths and pays.
To be making 150K as a BA you have extensive experience in fortune 100 companies doing serious company wide overhaul projects. And probably an accounting or legal background

I know that big banks like bmo, td, rbc hire Phds in engineering as business analysts in their IT support departments. How much do they make? I don't know, probably in higher end for an entry level bus. analyst.
But, people told me that salary of BA is based on relevant experience, not on education; you switch from engineering to banking, you got to start from entry level like everyone else.

Yeah
I like how people always ask how much the salary is before deciding if they wish to do this or not. If you enjoy something do it, even if it pays low and it should pay low in the beginning. Find something you love and the money will follow.

a business analyst at my company will make between $75,000 - $95,000, depending on experience. But a title of business systems analyst is a more appropriate title.

At my work (public sector), Systems Analysts make around 65K and SBAs make between 68-71K
From what I've heard, if you work on contract you could make $70-80/hr, but your contract is never guaranteed
