What is Wiresless N and will it make a difference when I'm surfing the tubes?

b g or n.. no difference in speed for wireless internet. however if you're transferring wireless files from computer to computer then yes huge difference. thats the major factor in buying g or n... to answer your above question.. if you have a g router and have a n card on your lappy. you will be getting g transfer speeds between computers. if you do not do a lot of of wireless transfer between computers then g is good enough.... hell, if i wanted to transfer something from computer to computer i just use a external drive for that...

Transfer files between computers on the same network? Of course, everyday. Local backups are free and fast.

Transferring files with parallel cables is outdated and slow. So with modern computers, no one does that anymore. People now generally transfer files through network switches or wireless.

I don't know much about wireless N, but as far as I know, it's still in draft specification. Not completely finalized. But supposedly there's basically nothign left to change so it should be compatible with future specs.
