What are the worst food you ever had?

Let me start with Thai Island in TD Centre foodcourt. Since the renovation, food quality has gone downhill and it is now absolutely disgusting. Worst food ever and this is by food court standard. They now use the lowest quality ingredients ever and tastes stale and bland. Had Made To Order food before and the food was cold and disgusting I had to throw it away.

If you have to get Thai Island, do yourself a favor and get it from the ones in Brookfield place or BMO foodcourt.

Whats your story?

Kraft Dinner. IMO it's truly vomit-inducing stuff.

My mom used to make it when I was a kid but only my brother ate it.

Microwavable tv dinners. Totally disgusting, full of salt and taste like plastic. Weight watchers is eatable though.

KFC is pretty gross too. The chicken is so oily, only skin and has no taste. Big crunch, coleslaw, and the buttery bread is good though.

Agree with KFC. Not sure what the big deal is. If someone buys some and there are leftovers at home I'll eat it. But I'd never buy any.

If you remember the other thread I mentioned Swiss Chalet, specifically the sauce. I think I'd actually pay not to eat it. Garlic cheese loaf is great though.

The worst dish was from some small, bare-bones, family-run Chinese restaurant in Port Perry, Ontario. I went up for a poker tournament at Blue Heron and ate beforehand. I thought I ordered something okay-ish but I guess my stomach couldn't handle it. Worst nausea in my entire life. I almost wished for assisted-suicide. It was actually painful but it wasn't coming out at either end.

It was only 2-3 hours later that it started dripping and shooting out. I didn't think completely liquid poop was possible but I was wrong.

Sat in the casino toilet for 20-30 mins.

Waddled over to the poker table. At that point I didn't care about the tournament. My main goal was to not throw up or make my underwear look like a squished brownie.

Luckily it subsided but it was still an unpleasant 5-6 hours.

I don't know if my non-chalant attitude played any role but I actually placed 2nd out of 40!

Happy ending.

Hamburger with onions fried in a pan, not drained, with a blob of watery mashed potatoes and another blob of canned cream corn. Picture this on a plate. It was horrific. My mother made this at least 2x per week growing up. She's the world's greatest mother but was also the world's worst cook (although she's improved considerably over that 40+ years). Even now when I think about it, it makes me want to throw up. We still make jokes that we should have called Children's Aid.

Agreed 100%!! There's a reason why there is no longer a Le Biftek in Toronto. Horrible steak. Worst crap ever. Good to see the place go.
How it stays in business other places is well over my head. Maybe another franchise (or whatever) runs things a little better, who knows??

Here's Anthony Bourdain's opinion of natto from his book A Cook's Tour:
“What I was not ready for, and never will be, was natto . . . an unbelievably foul, rank, slimy, glutenous and stringy goop of fermented soybeans. . . . If the taste wasn’t bad enough, there’s the texture. There’s just no way to eat the stuff. I dug in my chopsticks and dragged a small bit to my mouth. Viscous long strands of mucus-like material followed, leaving numerous ugly and unmanageable strands running from my lips to the bowl. I tried severing the strands with my chopsticks, but to no avail. I tried rolling them around my sticks like recalcitrant angel-hair pasta. I tried slurping them in. But there was no way. I sat there, these horrible-looking strings extending from mouth to table like a spider’s web, doing my best to choke them down while still smiling . . . All I wanted to do now was hurl myself through the paper walls and straight off the edge of the mountain. Hopefully, a big tub of boiling bleach or lye would be waiting at the bottom for me to gargle with.”

If you think that was hilarious, look up what he thinks of something he calls "mountain potato" in the next paragraph of his book.

A certain person at work brought in a certain type of fish. I dunno what kind it was or how it tastes, but it stunk like smelly rotten fish. It is the worst smelling food I have ever smelled. The person warmed it up in the microwave and it stunk up the entire lunchroom and everything. He was sitting there munching it down, enjoying it, while everyone else had difficulty breathing in that toxic smell.

I don't eat exotic stuff, but from the average stuff people eat all the time, I can't stand hot dogs, cold cuts or sushi. For sushi, I think it's really the seaweed wrap that disgusts me.

We won't go near a Carls' Jr ever since a disgusting, revolting experience in a little hick town west of Phoenix. My wife was smart enough to stop eating their slop before it was too late, but I was famished and wolfed it down. Consequently we spent a few extra days in motels with me recuperating.
Recently one opened up near us and a year later it closed.
I smile every time I go by that location now.

Carl's Jr opened and closed just as quick here in Toronto too, but that's not because of the food. It's because their franchise deal with 6 points went very sour.
Oh btw, it might just be a location issue.
When Carl's was here in Toronto, the food was good enough...not as good as a South Street Burger, but still very good.
