What is wrong with Canada Post drivers?
Luckily I didn't have to work Thursday, otherwise the HP 22" widescreen monitor (clearly marked on the box) that I ordered from BB would have been sitting on my front step all day. More likely it wouldn't have been sitting there long at all!!
This has happened more than once, where they have left items just sitting there in plain view. Even a freaking computer!!!!!! Mind you, it was a cheapie from eBay, but still, the box clearly stated it was a PC.
Other times, I have had to drive to the nearest postal outlet to pick up a 10 dollar item that would have easily fit in my mailbox, or between the doors.
Geesh I'm pissed!!!!!

I forgot to mention one minor detail.
They didn't knock or ring the bell.
Are they required to do that much?
There are times when common sense needs to over ride policies.

They tried to deliver my DVD's from Deep discount the other day ... never even knocked or rang the door bell .. I know this because i was home and working in the kitchen... I have a note to go to side door on my front door.. (which was open ) ... CP drivers are definatly a joke .. I suspect he just wanted to be done early so filled the notice out ran to the front door, stuck it there and ran back to the truck .. There is no way the guy tried to knock or anything .. I had to make a special trip to a Mac's milk on the other side of town to retrieve my dvd's

I find they never knock. If it requires a signature they just don't knock and make you go to the post office to pick it up. Another thing is if you catch them at the door when they are dropping it off and there's customs or anything to pay... they don't carry change. How are you supposed to know what the exact cost of it's going to be if u didn't even see the packing slip? Unacceptable...

Yeh - I think after making so many deliveries to one place they start to remember who is home/isnt home. They'll just drop a slip off without knocking even if you are home when if they normally go, they get no one.

Alot of the problem is with contracting out. Canada Post hires private delivery guys and they just seem to leave notices (rather than ringing the bell and waiting) or drop parcels. I guess they are paid by the package. At one time, I was getting alot of Priority Courier letters that required signatures. Despite being home and getting notices, the door bell never rang. When I went to the Postal Outlet and saw the clerk was overwhelmed by an enormous number of packages, she told me she that these guys didn't appear to be delivering anything other than notices and just dropping the parcels off there. She told me that everyone was complaining and she definitely noticed the increase in parcels with the contracted out drivers. I have a Canada Post person delivering now and she is great.

You need to ask the sender to specify "No Safe Drop" when the package is delivered.

I guess it depends on the mailman...I've never had Canada Post packages left at the door. If they don't fit in the mailbox they leave me a note (in the mailbox) and I pick it up the next day. Only company that leaves stuff at my door is UPS. They never bother ringing the doorbell either. Damn I hate them.

The last two Canada Post deliveries I had, the driver came to the door with the full intention of sticking the missed delivery card to my window. I caught him both times though
The first time it was pouring rain and he got drenched
