What are you having for Easter dinner?

What will you be having for your main Easter meal? Are you cooking, contributing to a family meal, etc?

What are your favourite dishes at Easter? Are they traditional/cultural?

Just grabbed Fish & Chips and finished eating it today for Good Friday dinner. Yummy! On Saturday when the supermarket is open again I'll pick up a ham and a rack of lamb for Easter Sunday. Also, I'll probably see my butcher and pick up a bunch of marinated lamb skewers this weekend.

We are going to smoke a ham, and with it will have scalloped potatoes, cauliflower casserole, and I'm not sure what else yet :)
That's my 2cents worth

I wasn't planning on cooking turkey so didn't really pay attention to the prices. Did anyone have 99 cent a pound utility turkeys like at Christmas?

I couldn't make up my mind so bought a fresh turkey half breast, a small spiral sliced ham from WalMart (Our Finest, going to give this brand a try), and an Angus prime rib from Superstore. Still deciding which will be Easter dinner.

Going to brave the Costco crowds around 5:30pm to get a Limoncello layer cake. Hope it's less busy by then.

There will just be the three of us, our son will come over for several meals.

We have a traditional Ukrainian Easter meal, partaking of the foods which are put in a basket and have blessed at church.

Easter breads - I baked Paska and Babka; we'll also have baked ham, two kinds of ham garlic sausage; hard-boiled eggs, my husband made 'egg cheese' as well; grated beets with horseradish, green onion, butter.

Good explanations of why we use these items:

Add-ons for the meal will be cabbage rolls and potato salad.

The beets (and everything else) sound terrific. I was wondering what to do with the cooked beets I got from Costco, think I'll try your idea. Or a beet and carrot salad with pickled herring.

Oddly enough a lot of places had Grade As for $1/lb.
I miss the US where they had $0.29/lb Utilities. They were injected but it still made stupidly awesome sandwich meat.

now i'm just having eggs.
That's sad, hope your friend makes a good recovery.

Do you have some tomatoes on hand to make a Shakshuka type dish? It's my favourite way to use eggs as a main course.

Doing a Roast Leg of Lamb. Here I have it prepped and ready for tmr. I removed the thigh bone and filled the cavity with some Dijon mustard, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper.
