Life is not about net worth, but about self worth. And never let your net worth determine your self worth. Also, positive self worth trumps negative net worth. Smiling Face With Open Mouth
If only it were that simple.
Once you are in the whole, no amount of self worth will bring you up; until you can be cash positive again.

OP Why don't you have a negative?
There are people that live in debt, even with a house (mortgage), cars (financing)... and don't forget Credit Card debt.

OP, you asked RDFers their net worth and yet you didn't disclose your net worth. What is your net worth? Then we can determine whether you're on the right path to retirement or not.

Actually, RFD is also about many non net worth or non finance issues like career, home, and off topics (meaning of life, happiness, etc.)

The problems are that the low net worth people want to be high net worth, the high net worth people want to be happy, the single people want to be married, and the married people want to be dead.... And, the world's problem is not people going towards negative net worth, but that the planet is getting warmer while the people are getting colder.

My husband wanted to update the home value which I wasn't sure we should do since it inflates our numbers. We added about $290k to our net worth based on the most recent same unit prices.

We roughly a million of equity in our house once the mortgage is considered (based on conservative valuation)
RRSPs, RESPs, TFSA, RPPs roughly in the 450k range
I am sure that there is a value to my wife's DBPP...never really thought about it. Has about 12 more years until she can retire on full pension (TDSB)

That all being said, we never really think about it...doesn't really mean much.

39, Ball park is about $500k for the house ($800k - 300k mortgage), and about 900k investments. We'd like to be around 500k owned house (away from city) and about 1.5.-1.8M invested... and working low stress side gigs part-time... Still some time to go for that to happen.
