What other forum can you think of where everyone make six figures, and has millions stashed under their mattress?

HAHA, I have no idea what the avg household income is. Even though we have 7 figure networth I say we are far from "wealthly". We save well and live below our salary level, but honestly i don't feel like i'm missing out on anything. Hell I'm still using a Samsung S3 which I got for free... yet I see new grads coming in with $700 iphones making $35k/yr... yes they probably just spent 25% of their networth on a phone.

It is funny but this site I started out only viewing hot deals area yrs ago, but these days i'm usually always going into the Finance/Investing sub-forums first.

Those serious about building their networth and reaching financial independence early should head over to MMM forums. Pretty insane what some of the forums members savings rates are, some are a bit too "extreme" for my taste but it does give you ideas.

I figured out what contributed to networth and thought this was fun:

39% was savings
33.5% was gains from stock market
27.5% was gains from RE

Stock market gains are slowly eclipsing savings rate and have outperformed RE on an annual % basis.

I'll just say this, I'm near the bottom of the pile compared to RFDers if your poll results are to be believed. Although I'm not proud of ending up here this late in life, surprisingly my situation now is still quite favorable compared to most people I know actually! I can't believe how many people (not just young people) live on the brink of financial ruin, and seem to think that's perfectly fine, continue going on that way with no plan at all.
