What's the cheapest way to send small parcels within Canada?

I want to know the cheapest way to send parcels within Canada. I just checked in canadapost.ca and found it's more expensive for sending parcel in Canada than to US. it's ridiculous. Any guys give me suggestions?

Thanks!

I only know a few shippers.. canadapost, xpress post, purolator, fedex, ups..

there's special pricing for 'small packets' for US

It depends how small. Canada Post has prepaid XPressPost envelopes and boxes. You can put anything in there and send it for the same price. It's great if your parcel is heavy (like bricks or cast iron slabs). You can also apply for the small business VentureOne or whatever it's called and save 5%. You don't need an actual small business to apply for it as long as you make up a business name.

If your item is small, an Xpresspost envelope will be the best speed for the money for most places. If it's larger, use Expedited parcel.

Agreed. This also includes tracking number and $ 100 insurance. Membership is free.

Yep, Canadapost have redicious pricings.

I can send a registered mail from Hong Kong to Canada for $16 HKD, thats about $2.50 Canadian.

And it cost like $8 Canadian to send it by register mail within Canada is it?

Expedite parcel is your best bet for sending items within Canada.

Surface Small Packet is good for US, but not international.

Surface Small Packet in US takes 2 weeks maximum to arrive and International may take 2 months.

I think Canpar is cheap if you ship bigger parcel. Otherwise Expedit Parcel is good, but their tracking is unreliable though.

I wanted to, but never tried b/c I'm afraid I might miss something and get it returned

however, I use it to calculate the "exact" shipping so I know ahead
unbelievably, it's almost always correct (and sometimes even cheaper than the store)
