Whats the deal with the Cellphone Commercial with people jumping around in the street
Seen the commercial, seen it in a new Madonna video...
I heard that this is a cultural thing, few groups of young people in the UK etc are being seen using acrobatics to travel. Is there any truth to this? Does this activity have a name? are they called street jumpers or urban acrobatics or something?
For what its worth, it does look very cool and theatrical.. must be killer on the knees though.Last edited by CodecX81; Feb 23rd, 2006 at 04:31 PM.

Yes, it is somewhat of a culture thing. Many people run nowadays (it's good for cardio and so on) so people decided to make it more fun than just plain running. You run and do tricks at the same time, it's a very good workout and it's fun.

It's called Parkour
It became popular because of the Internet a few years ago and has become increasingly popular....and now finally, corporations have latched on to it.

Rogers + PKTO = PRO!!!
my friend has a Red jumpsuit with a Rogers and Adidas logo on it, and it has a side pocket on the left arm, which conveniently fits his W600i phone while hes flipping away.

Go rent (or download) the movies Banlieu 13 and Yamakasi. Lots of that in the movie.

The Yamakaze movie itself sucked but they are amazing.
I saw a documentary on them a couple years ago and I was blown away.

Cool trend until they reach middle age and realize it wasn't worth ruining their knees and joints over.
