i first thought that it mean that the bride and groom already did their vows/ceremony and they are just inviting you to show them selves off

it doesn't mean dress properly if thats what it meant then they would say "this even is black tie"

I went one wedding and if a person wanted to dance with the bride or groom they pinned money on them. Don't know what custom that was, but you get the gifts and the money.
