Whats a good space heater to get?

I want to prepare for the next power outage and heard about space heaters. Do you know of any good ones to get in Toronto? thanks!

Are you looking for one to run off a generator or using another fuel source?

I know none that run on batteries. Years ago my parents had an oil one. But any electric one won't run in your apartment if the power goes since they need to be plugged in.

Batteries don't contain enough power to run a heater. Any kind of fuel based heater (eg kerosene) runs the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning if you don't know what you are doing. Besides you probably can't store the liquid fuel in your place anyways because it would probably violate your insurance policy.

Bottom line look for a big warm winter coat and a really warm winter rated sleeping bag. Less chance of asphyxiation or setting your place on fire. Or set aside some money and plan to just check into a motel somewhere for a few days where they have power.
