What's the www address for Municipal laws? My car is getting evicted...
On Aug 25th,evening I got a notice at my door saying my housing corp will be doing garage cleaning and renovation. I have to move my car away by 7am on the 28th. That's less than 3 day notice and not even business days. That's insane.
It's also says that if I don't remove it by 7am,my vehicle will be towed away at my expense under Municipal Code 915!!
Funny, how I just came back from a vacation on Friday. Poor people who are still away from their weekends!!!
Is there some kind of regulation I can check online. I'd really like to see if what they are doing is legal.

Do you not sign a lease? Have you reviewed if for this situation?

Just move your damn car! You have lots of time to do so. Don't worry about other people who are away, let them worry about their own cars.

Woah man talk about bad timing. When I used to work at an apartment building and they were doing parking garage renovation they notified residents way in advance.

It takes you three days to move your car..... you know it does move faster if you drive it instead of push it. I know gas is pricy but come on! You can't afford enough to move it?

and he's arguing that 3 days is way too little notice to arrange for something like that -- especially those who aren't even there to see the notice because they might be away for the weekend, or possibly even longer.

Aug 27th, 2006 07:41 PM #9Well then maybe, instead of crying on the internet and looking for ways to get around it, he should be looking for a place to park his car, that would seem like the smart thing to do.

I think the guys point is, what about people that are on holidays? How would you like it if you came back and your car is gone? Plus yea, you gotta find a place for your car.

OP...
You asked about what you 'legal' position might be...again I ask you...what does your lease say about these things as that would define your legal rights, no?
