Yes it happen in Surrey BC..its was the drivers turn to be the DD,he had one drink but wasnt intoxicated. His friends were all over the limited 2X.The passengers were not critically injuried but suffer soft tissue injuries and back pain. They argued that the driver should have been responsible to take care of their safety when he was the designated driver and allowed them into his car,by him speeding and not paying attention to the road he caused a accident at control stop sign.I guess they werent really friends if they are suing the driver.Thats why insurance companies are asking people to raise the liability limits to 2 million these days.In the GTA is estimated that about %10 of drivers on the road has no insurance coverage so if you do get into accident make sure you get all the drivers info plus take a photo of the accident if you got a camera phone, never assume the driver has a legit insurance slip and alway go to the accident reporting center asap.
