Did I miss the boat, is it too late in the season to still lay down seed and earth? I've got several patches on my lawn that I would like to fix.

You are very likely too late. The seedlings have to be able to grow enough so that they are not killed by the first frost. Unless we get an unusually warm next month, the seedlings will all die when the next frost comes.

Unfortunatley you're going to have to wait for spring time to lay down seeds and earth.. May I suggest that you go to any garden centre and use top dresser instead of top soil. Top soil tends to clump up whereas top dresser will not. Alos in your mix with seads and soil, don't forget to add a good starter fertilizer too.

Right about now its still ok to lay down fall fertilizer to help promote strong root growth over the winter months.

Good luck!!!!
