Keep in mind I bought coins from them almost 2 years ago.
They shipped via Priority Post. I sent a certified cheque, although I think they do accept personal cheques (with a hold until it clears, of course). I don't recall about the taxes; the coins were sealed.
Just call them and ask for a quote. Keep in mind that these prices fluctuate. The person on the phone was very helpful.

I have purchased them from Scotia bank. Here is the web page:
http://www.scotiabank.com/cda/conten..._LIDen,00.html
I bought them from the downtown branch in Edmonton down in the basement depository. This was quite some time ago but I believe I paid cash so there was no extra fees. I just paid the the daily gold price for 1 oz coins.
As far as I know Scotia bank is the only bank which will sell then to you directly from their depository. Other banks will get them for you but they will charge you transportation, secruity, handling, etc. fees

I checked the Scotia site, and have a quick question
they talk about premium/commissions on bullion
is there commission for coins too? ... and how much, coz I may just want to buy 1 for fun

AFAIK, Scotiabank handles more precious metals transactions than any other Canadian bank.

I just found a place in Montreal (located downtown). The URL is www.kitco.com. I can pick it up directly from them so there is no shipping and handling. As well there is no GST or PST just whatever the current value of gold is on that day. Anyone else ever bought from them before? Thanks.

Can you sell to them too? If yes, how much does the commission/fee cost?
Thanks!

You can sell to Kitco. I'm not sure how the calculate the commission though.
Their price list is here: https://online.kitco.com/scripts/sel...e.plx?curr=CAD

I don't think they have an implicit comission, there's just a spread between buy and sell prices.
Eg, they are selling Gold Maple Leafs for $1,050.28 and buying them for $960.68.

You do know, of course, that gold just spiked, right? I'd wait a while for it to come back down.
Especially if you're looking at one of those sweet 400oz bars
