Where to buy an R4 for 3DS/3DS XL

I'm not sure If I posted in the right forum, though I think here I will get the best results.

I need to get an R4 card for my little brother's 3DS and for my 3DS XL, but I'm not sure which one to get?

I see a bunch of different ones and I don't want to end up getting some cheap knockoff.

Does anyone know a good site where I can get one shipped to Canada, and which one I should get?

P.S. I know that they can't play the 3DS games, I just want it to play the DS games.

Thanks.

Check out www.realhotstuff.com. They have a few different r4 cards (ds, 3ds, gold (not sure what the gold one is :P)). I can't tell you if these are authentic ones, but I did order an EZ Flash IV from them and it works perfectly fine.

Thanks, I'll check that one out, but I'm still not sure which one to get.

I thought R4 support was dead?

You should do some research on an Acekard 2i. I'd recommend it over an R4.

thanks for the post, are you sure this works with 3ds/3ds xl though?
You may have issues right off the start. If it comes without the eos then you'll need a ds to flash it, 3ds can't do it.

I bought mine here http://www.r4ds-ds.com/

I bought the r4i gold plus, and it is still getting support for the latest firmware 4.4.0-10U

The only thing is that you always have to remember to update your cartridge before you update your system, because you will need it to update the cartridge.

So before you buy anything, check the firmware version of your 3ds. Not every seller carry the cartridge with the latest firmware.

I have an old ds, I guess I can use that?

I'm pretty sure the latest 3DS firmware prevents R4's from running regular DS games.

Buy the R4i Gold Plus. Got mine in two days since they are in Ontario. Worked straight out of the box and updated for the latest 3DS firmware.

If your 3DS is already updated, you will need a ds to update the card. I don't think mine had the latest firmware.

Not to my knowledge. I've been following over at gbatemp for a bit and there's nothing yet.
