Where to buy used Chrysler Intrepid Engine?
My engine died on me (head gasket) and I'm looking to get it swapped out with something else. I have a 2001 Chrysler Intrepid SE with a 2.7 v6.
Does anyone know where to get a (good) used intrepid engine or any other car engines that might fit into this car?
I can probably head to the junk yard for one, but are those any good?
Thanks for any suggestions!
btw.. I'm around the erin mills area of mississauga.

You may want to research a 3.5L swap...

carcone.com can get you any part and there up in Aurora just north of Toronto.
Check with standard auto wreckers as well. Don't bother changing to a different type of engine, a straight swap is cheaper and your less likely to run into problems.
That and whats the point of modifying an intrepid (no offense)

Simple reason? The 2.7L is known for its oil sludge issues. The consensus last time I hung around dodgeintrepid.net was that the 3.5 was a lot more reliable...

Agree. You are much better off going for a 3.2 or 3.5 swap. First of all find a mechanic you can trust with the swap. He could also possibly help you find one or at least be on the lookout for one. Since you are in sauga I would prolly look into Cooksville junkyard or the Oakville junkyard. You also might want to use www.car-part.com to help you locate an engine.
