I need a hollow metal tube about 30-40cm long (8-10 in) and should be able to take 1/4" screw on both ends.
I have checked canadian tire, walmart, home depot, rona, bolt+, .... even ebay.
I don't know where to go? Its for a DIY project.
I am located in GTA.
Note: It doesn't have to be metal, a thin PCV pipe will do as well.

Checked metal supermarket. V helpful people, unfortuantely I was using wrong term. Hollow rod means different, I need a "tube". They have tubes but don't have with thread in them. I will have to get it and then take it to machine shop, which is fairly unreasonable amount of money for a small tube.

Not sure what you are trying to do with it.
Does it have to be hollow all the way throught? Can you use a redi-rod in the middle, and coupling nuts on both sides?
Or perhaps find a hollow tube and get a 1/4" tap and make your own threads?

Try an auto parts store. Sounds like you could use a 1/4" solid brake line.
Example here (not in Canada): http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...oductId=758028
If you get it from (or take it to) a mechanic, he should be able to tap the threads in for you.Last edited by dollarsign; Aug 7th, 2012 at 10:17 PM.

I can use rediRod - but I need to put some sort of tube/covering in the middle of it. is there any pcv/plastic/metal tube that goes securely on the middle part of it?
doesn't have to be hollow - but hollow gives it little more rigidness (less flexible).
Hmmm ... mechanic can tap in? I did not know that. I thought you have to take it to special machine shops._______________
