FWIW...
I work as a professional photographer for 13 years. 5 years ago i went fully digital. I have 2 canon pro digital bodies and have no lcd protectors. I shoot sports all the time. I stopped using filters on my lenses too.
I have no scatches on my lenses or lcd and i use them full time 100,000+ photos per yer.
You are wasting your money IMO.

Where can I buy the most quality LCD protectors on this planet?
Hello folks.
I am buying Canon G7 very very soon, and would like to have LCD protector from day 1 to avoid any possible scratches.
I know eBay has more LCD protectors than total population of the world, but in years of using cheap eBay things, I am not sure I want to buy something cheap for such an expensive camera.
For example i have purchased numerous cell phone screen protectors, but all of them are very bad quality. Like it says that protector is scratch resistance, but it gets scratched very easily which means you have to replace them more often.
I am looking for very quality digital camera LCD protectors that are 2.5 inch.
There must be of a company that sells them. I know they will be more expensive than the average "$0.99 Buy It Now" from eBay, but I am willing to pay extra knowing that i dont have to replace it every month due to cheap plastic

I dont think $20 on good cover is wasting money.
I know you take good care of your things and dont have any scratches, but
i dont do things like you do.
a lot of times my camera will be given to other people to take a picture, a lot of kids near the camera, and you know...stuff like that
$20 isnt that much to be honest for peace of mind.
sure, there is a chance that i will never ever get a scratch on it, but what if it does get scratched in the LCD? will the $20 help me to get rid of the scratch.
i just want to have peace of mind.

Should work out to less than $10 total...cut it yourself to fit, and you'll have plenty left for other stuff.

no LCD protector is meant to be scratch proof or resistant. They will only have limited life span.

The stuffs on eBay is actually pretty good, you should look for one that will exactly fit the G7 screen(and one that won't leave bubbles). Don't buy the one that need cutting to fit.

Pointless.
Unless specifically made for the application, I can see the adhesive used for the screen protector doing damage to the delicate anti-glare coating on the LCD. This is why the screen reflects brown/green if you look at it from an angle.
I don't really like the G7 anyway

Deal with it.
