It is difficult. We tried donating previously; however, as many cannot be washed, they would not be accepted by any Charity that we tried.

With what nalababe said in mind, try to wash the stuff animals because in many cases, cleanliness is an issue. Especially in, say, a childrens' hospital, where cleanliness is paramount for heath reasons.
That said, someone (Ullyeus, I think) posted a question similar to this a while ago and a number of suggestions that popped up included:
- Childrens' Hospital (domestic, international)
- Firefighters (apparently they dole out toys to children in the aftermath of a fire to calm them down)
- Women's shelters; shelters in general (for children who have little/nothing for a wide variety of reasons, a toy can go a long way to make them happy)

I had a few garbage bags full of newer stuffed toys. And was hoping to send it overseas to kids in war stricken countries.
I wasn't sure how to go about doing this. Or if it's even possible.

I figure discussing with a group that deals with children (re:distributing goods and support funds) would be an option. I imagine Plan Canada be happy to discuss ideas.
Even better, shoot off a message to the guy that runs Tom Shoes (Blake Mycoskie) and suggest a distribution plan where a toy is given with every pair of shoes they donate to a child in need. That there is something.
