I buy mine on eBay. There are some sellers that start bids at $0.99, and they're all brands you'd find at Macy's. I usually get them for under $20 (shipping included), and the brands include all the ones that were listed here. I also suggest a Macy's brand called Tasso Elba. It is a Macy's house brand that is probably made with the best quality of any other Macy's brand. I have a lot of their polos, sports shirts, and sweaters. I'd say their quality is comparable with CK, Nautica, and Tommy.

If you get a chance to go to one of their stores internationally, Uniqlo (mostly in Asia, also in UK, but the closest being in the US). The store is kinda like H&M but price is good (maybe even better) and the quality of their stuff is better than H&M(I've heard nothing but terrible things about H&M polos). They fit me real well, and are really comfy. They were like $17-$20 for regular plain colour ones.
Sucks that there isn't one in Toronto, nor do they ship internationally.

Yes to Sporting Life and The Bay. I've actually picked up a Ralph Lauren polo from there. The Big Pony edition.
Definitely checkout Lacoste polo's. They fit real well and slim.

Seriously OP, the best option is to go to the States once every 2-3 years to pick stuff up. That's what I try to do. You can get Polo Ralph Lauren for like $30-$35 (or even cheaper some times) at the outlets, Banana Republic polo's for like $15, and other random brands as well. Macy's, JC Penny's, etc, all have lots of selection for cheap.
Otherwise, Tommy Hilfiger has some good options and they often go on sale for 50-60% off.

Lacoste and Burberry. Not from Canada though, way too expensive here.

Could HAVE, not could OF. What does 'could of' even mean?
