Where does aftermarket head unit fit in modern dash?
Here's a newbie question: on newer cars with specially designed dashboards, where can one install an aftermarket head unit? Is it standard to replace the OEM radio display - even if it's a nonstandard shape/size? By standard, I mean a basic Future Shop installation that doesn't involve modding the dash.
Can someone post a picture of a standard aftermarket head unit installation in a relatively new car? ie. Accord, Mazda3, Civic, etc.

You will probably need to replace the dash panel in order to fit an aftermarket headunit in. I'm not too sure if places like Futureshop have these parts. You might need to order them from the dealer (or eBay).
I found a DIY Civic EX radio install guide of what it looks like:

You just need a mount kit , most FS or BB sells them too depending how rare or not rare your car is.

Check that link and enter your vehicle info and you'll get an idea what I'm talking about.
