should be able to get a last minute to Cuba/DR for $1000. Keep an eye on the last minute vacation sites.

If you want something super cheap, I'm trying to unload 2 roundtrip tickets from Buffalo area to Florida (Punta Gorda which is 1.5 hours from Disney, or <1.5 from Tampa Bay).
Flight times are really good:
From/To Flight Stops Departure Arrival IAG NIAGARA FALLS, NY
PGD FT MYERS/PUNTA GORDA, FL D1 - 5915 0 Friday

(Worth $250 PER PERSON for the return leg alone right now)
Asking $390 and I pay the name change fee. This is for BOTH ROUNDTRIP tickets. It's with Direct Air so you do have to pay for checked in bags if you need 'em. 1 carry on allowed.
Airport parking is $5/day.Last edited by Diamond_Ace; Feb 8th, 2012 at 12:04 PM.

For Vegas, you'll be able to keep it under $1,000 if all you're planning to do is walk around and sit at the hotel pool. For lunch and breakfast, stick to fast food. That way you can spend more on dinner (which, in my opinion, is more worth it).
If budget is a problem, personally, I'd go to an all-inclusive resort!_______________
Herp <- less.
Derp <- more.

GF and I went to Vegas last reading week for roughly $1,600. We were there 3 nights at the Bellagio and went to the Grand Cayon as well (not worth it IMO, too far). I think Vegas is great cause everything's so close together you can just spend time shopping and walking around.
This reading week we're heading to Orlando for 4 nights/5 days. Doing 2 days at Disney/2 days universal. Flight+ Hotel+car = $1700 for two. Park tickets has cost about $600 thus far. lol This is going to be 1 expensive trip >_<. I do book earlier though (late Dec or early Jan) cause right now the prices seems to have gone up. Good luck!

Funny thing, i went to a travel agent, and she quoted me $1500 per person for just flight and hotel for 4 days. then i went on to book my own flights, which were $450/person, and hotel seems to be around 80-120/night for holiday inn or something similar. wayyyy cheaper this way. haha. but now the park tickets will cost me a few hundred

If I wasn't spending reading week in the library and renovating my condo, I'd be heading straight to Orlando - although my annual park pass makes it easy to take quick trips. Definitely a do-able trip for 1000$ either way.
