Where to recycle carpet? (GTA)
I've looked all over Google and unable to find anything in GTA for recycling carpet... does this go to landfill?

I believe it does. I think the problem is there are two different materials woven together and it would be impossible to separate them.
I know in the documentary "The Corporation" there was a CEO from a carpet manufacturer who had realized that all the product the were making was eventually destined for landfill and he became an enviormentalist. Quite interesting to see

Depending on how old the carpet is, you may be able to give it away for free on a site like freecycle or craigslist. When I put hardwood floors in my bedrooms a couple of years ago, I took the old carpet and put it on my unfinished basement floor to keep the dust down and to provide some warmth for the feet when I was down there doing laundry, running on the treadmill etc...
One of my neighbours removed and replaced his brand new carpet right after buying the house from the builder and he was bombarded with offers when he listed it for free on craigslist, so you may have the same luck if the carpet is in good condition.
