Where to sell a ring?
Not sure if it belongs here....but I'm looking for suggestions on where I can sell an engagement ring in the GTA?
My fiancee and I recently broke up and there's really no point in keeping the ring...and with her income being out of the picture, I'll need some extra $$$.
Any suggestions/feedback/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I think Spence guarantees the value on the repurchase of the diamond.

But that's only if you buy it from them, no?

You'll have an easier time selling the raw stone out of the ring, rather than the whole ring.
Buying a used engagement ring has a bit of taboo attached to it, kind of like the 'used condom' stigma, but not as bad.
Post what it is and you can go from there.
If you bought at a mall retailer and it's a cookie cutter ring, you can expect a 50% loss or more...

Yeah, I bought it at what can be considered a "retail" jeweller. A local company that has maybe 2-3 locations where I used to live 3 years ago.
I've seen TV ads for "Gold4cash" but I have a hard time believing that I'd get that much from them.

Quite a few years ago, friends of my parents had to sell their custom jewellery. They ended up selling it Oliver Jewellers and got 15 cents on the dollar, which was the highest offer they received from anyone else (and Oliver made the stuff in the first place).

yeah, unfortunately you will never get close to the amount you spent on the diamond... that's why a diamond is forever, you can't sell it because there are no buyers!
But hey, save it for your next fiancee.

Start at the diamondtalk forums. If you have decent certification for the stone, you might find a buyer.
