Where should my next solo vacation be?

First question to answer, budget = $1100

I've been to the following places in my adult years... not many...

-St. Lucia (LOVED IT!)
-Las Vegas (Twice, once with a friend, second time solo)
-Cuba (Varadero) (With ex-gf)

I loved Las Vegas as a solo traveler, one of the best trips I've ever had.

So, long story short I came into some $ and paid off all of my consumer debt and was left over with a nice chunk of $ to save. I would love to go on another solo trip, probably not vegas this time as I did everything I wanted to do last time that I didn't get to do the first time. So I am more looking for a relaxing vacation on my own since I've been stressed to all hell with a few things lately. My friends father suggested a resort to me in Cayo Coco that was $875/week all in for July.

Any other suggestions? Not looking to break the bank, just want somewhere that is generally suggested by a lot of people.

Thanks for any and all suggestions

I just came back from two weeks in China, didnt break the bank, was great being a solo traveler in a group, seen tons, learned even more and was a great experience. Nothing that you will get on a beach in Cayo Coco.

Costa Rica or Panama?

There's literally nothing to do in Cayo Coco except the beach and mediocre hotels.

That's what I was thinking as well.

When I went to Varadero earlier in the year I met a Canadian couple and since they've been to that same resort roughly 18 times, they got unlimited a la cartes where I was limited to 3. They ended up inviting us into every a la carte and out to a bunch of local restaurants, was a great time. The hotel/resort I'd rate a 5/10 though.

You can't do that for $1100 from Toronto.
Could HAVE, not could OF. What does 'could of' even mean?

You can get round trip for under $1000. Just have to watch for specials.

Timing matters a lot. There was a $750 return flight to Phuket in December. That leaves $350 for food and surprise packages. :D

With $1100 I would go somewhere a little more interesting such as Mexico City, Bogota, Costa Rica, Lima

I say up the budget a little bit and explore Colombia. Not as dangerous as it sounds and great value. You can usually get to Bogota for around $500-$700 aside from xmas time and flying around Colombia is cheap and easy. Most of South America you are subject to buses, the luxury of flying cheap around Colombia I would say is unmatched anywhere in South or Central America.

If you can borrow an extra $1000-$1500 it would be a great trip for 2 weeks. might not even need that much. Don't waste your time in all inclusive and single supplements when you are young.
