whetstones for knife sharpening
I have two Global knives and one of them has been used a lot and I think it's becoming a bit dull. Just wondering where I can get a cheap whetstone to sharpen it and also does it matter what the grit number is?

To properly sharpen good knives, yes you do. Since you've already spent the money on good Globals think of it as part of the investment. If you don't want to invest further most restaurant supply houses also do professional knife sharpening. Our local only charges $4/knife.

Yah. I have a Santoku Wusthof that's getting dull too. I've been reluctant to sharpen them myself also ... the whole issue about getting the right angle and all.
While we're on the subject, any one have a good sharpener to recommend in the Markham/Scarborough area?

You're welcome.
For supplies ... i've found that www.paulsfinest.com carries very nice stuff.

No, I don't work for them. However, i've ordered from them in the past and they are:
- prompt
- professional
- Canadian
- prices are decent to good, but not spectacular. To get the hottest deals, that's what RFD is for!_______________
