Who Has a Cheaper Plan Than Me?

Hey Everyone,

With the news of Fido increasing their $40/4GB Plan by $5 (a 12.5% increase in 9 months) I wanted to know who has a better plan than me. Here are the details of my plan for $40.

4GB Data
Unlimited Text, Picture and Video Messages from Canada to Canadian, U.S. and International Mobile Numbers
Unlimited British Columbia-Wide Minutes
1000 International Long Distance Minutes to 8 Selected Countries
Unlimited Circle Calling Minutes
Call Display Voicemail Call Waiting Conference Call

If you have a better/cheaper plan than me I want to know what you are getting for what you are paying for.

To enter your plan details you must meet the following requirements:

1. The price of your plan must be lower than $40 a month
2. You must have a minimum of 500MB included in your plan.
3. Other than the minimum data requirement, other components of the plan can be greater or weaker than my plan (i.e. you could have set amount of minutes or no long distance)

I would like to see if anyone has a plan for around $30 with some data. Please note that your plan does not need to be currently offered. I just want to get a sense what people have been offered that do not require large amounts of data. Let's see who really has the cheapest data plan!

Thanks

My 3rd line is Freedom Mobile after all the discount I pay $21 + tax for 10gb. We have a good reception in our area so no problem using it. Off course FM is not for everybody is YMMV.
Thank you for your generosity EY CG LJ

You also need to include Province. Cell plans vary greatly by province due to different competitive landscapes. An equivalent plan in Ontario will cost double what you are paying on Fido.

My current Fido plan has 2 portions or 2 SIMs :
1. 3 Gb LTE from Fido $15 a month.
2. Unlimited local calls and 100 SMS , VM, CID.... at $20 a month
And I need to use a dual SIM phone to accommodate the set up
I cannot complain. Even if I do, nobody will listen anyway LOL

Likely you have a typo. The $15 3 Gb plan has a $10 charge for each Gb in excess thereof. If I am correct, 4 Gb means $15+$10

3GB, corrected. 15+10 for 4GB wouldn't make sense. I usually fit within 2GB but my partner goes over 3GB so when she nears her limit we swap SIMs every month.

You guys are lucky in that both of you have got the best data plan in Ontario. Previously you did not need to have an existing Fido account to get the tablet plan.

Virgin Silver QC 3 GB data $40 per month. I do a phone upgrade every 4-8 weeks and collect gift card incentives (which offsets my buy-out after a phone call to loyalty), then I sell the phone for $150-200 at 100% markup. So with minimal effort, Virgin is paying me to keep the service with them. If I need more data, activate another line on the account with a big data plan with one month free. Then cancel just before they start billing you for it. Theoretically, I could exploit this for 30-40 GB per month at no cost on top of my base plan. Would work better if I had a dual-sim phone, which would make me more inclined to pulling the trigger on that loophole.

By no means do I have "the best plan" or the plan to be had. But it's an awesome plan for me since I don't typically incur overage charges, plan is still affordable, plus I get to pump phones and sell them or use them as currency when travelling.
Motorola phone. Linux on 2xcomputers. Brew beer & wine @home.
Home service reseller internet + FPL + antenna with streaming on smart TV
Wireless 1 line w/ Virgin on QC plan, few lines w/ Koodo to get phones, couple FreedomPop SIM's for roaming
