Who would cover Gas/Hotel when travelling for Health Care Reasons?
My gf has an appointment at a Hospital in Montreal in Decemeber, and the last time we went her doctor's office they took the receipt for the gas and stated they would reimburse her. This time we would like to stay overnight because the drive down is over 8 hours and making a one day trip would be a very long day.
Who would cover all of the expenses? OHIP? Could anyone lead me to a website or provide me some information so that we could get reimburssed.
She's been referred by a doctor here in Ontario to see a surgeon in Montreal.
Thanks

Doctor's are not the most reliable people to ask this question to. It's the last thing on their mind.
