Went to my local one on the weekend. Lame ass sale. Now up to 40% off. Didn't see one thing 40% off. Everything was 15% off...which isn't really enough to get me to buy something that I dont 100% need yet. I've been looking for a new Leatherman, so I went and checked the display case. 10% off. Still $10 more than @ Cabelas. Pretty disappointing.
Agreed. It's not a worthwhile sale yet.

Checked out one of the stores a couple weekends ago, bought a few things. I notice their website now says up to 50% off. Anyone know if they've marked down guns and ammo any more than 5% yet or if there's any great deals?

I agree with the previous posters, especially Thalo. {And} Thalo's advice is spot on.

I was just at the Langley store... and I couldn't believe how much stuff hasn't moved. Most stuff is 25% off, but not many good deals. They still have at least half their guns and scopes. The clothing department looks like they haven't sold a thing.

They had those 3 burner camp stoves for $225... They go for less than $200 every spring at Costco.

Was looking at a TK50 flashlight, marked down to $60. $50 online.

I've always wanted a .22 pistol. They had a Browning 1911 .22 marked down to $750. It's $675 At Al Flaherty, and I'm not even sure that's cheapest.

So I'll keep checking in over the next month.... But no rush.

That sounds about normal for stores that are closing down. Overpriced products marked down to above average prices. By the time they decide to actually give some decent deals, staff gobble it up before shoppers even have a chance.

Firearms and ammo are 30% off, limited amount of "clearance firearms" are 35% off. Ammo is out of a lot of common hunting rounds in West Kelowna location, no 243,308, 30-06 etc.

Best deal right now is probably on Savage firearms as there's an additional mail in rebate available. Picked up a Savage 93R17-GV for $251, additional $50USD mail in rebate is eligible. Guy behind the counter told me all firearms not sold over the weekend are going to Canadian Tire, so time might be limited if you're hoping for a deeper firearm discount.

Looked at 22LR rounds and even after discount its still something like 0.08-0.09 per round... not much better than the pricing on stuff when it goes on sale at Cabelas.

Picked up a Benelli Nova in Langley today for 419.99. If your looking for something they still have quite a bit left.

I've been back several times...LOTS of 'regular' inventory...plenty of shotgun rounds but almost all trap loads...plenty of rifle ammo in Calgary...was going to grab more .223 ' 300 round Freedom Buckets but still $130.00 ( Tenda sells it @ $160.00...SFRC sells @ $173.00 ), but I also save on no shipping costs. Accessories have pretty good discounts...synthetic stocks, mounts, optics and such. I picked up a bunch of cleaning brushes for about $1.25 each and the last of their 22lr stock, so the trip was not wasted...

Lol. Of course they still have quite a bit of stuff. There's hardly a discount on most stuff. No wonder they are going under. Can't even throw a going out of business sale properly.

Friend went yesterday and got a good deal on a Savage Axis in 30-06 ($299 and possibly a $100 rebate if he can figure it out).
If it’s not at least 50% off is it really a deal?

The rebates work, just direct your friend to the Savage website, my $50 rebate for the Savage 93R17-GV was approved online. $217 taxes in for a $380 (before taxes) rifle is very hot.
