Why do big brake kits cost so much when 6 pot rebuilt Brembos are 500 a piece?

How do they justify 3-5k for two calipers and rotors? I found off RockAuto that you can buy Porsche 911 Turbo Calipers for a 2008 for about 500 a piece (272 + 250 core). I don't get where the money goes when the cost is 4k. RnD can't be that much.

Basically because of high overhead and R&D costs, and low demand/production.

The cost of running a CNC and the equipment needed to cast the calipers, etc and of course good rotors don't come cheap either.

If they were able to sell more, prices would come down but since there isn't much demand for them, consumers eat up the costs to cover their overhead, R&D, and manufacturing.
