Why do people like Wendys?

I always see packed lineups with 100 people at lunch, I think aside from their Chicken nuggets (thats the only thing ill order there) their food is disgusting. Their fries are dry and nothing special. A&W has much better fries and burgers. Even Burger King is better. Their menu is all overpriced garbage. $5 for a double cheeseburger with enough grease to soak through your pants and thats big enough to feed a 6yr old. Wendys was good when they had their 99 cent menu.an

About once a month, at Wendy's I usually order a Jr. Hamburger Deluxe minus the pickle and mayo. I don't have a big appetite, and it's cheap, tastes great, plus they give you lettuce, tomato, and real onion, extras you won't find on McDonald's small hamburger (unless you want to include dehydrated onions). As for Burger King, I don't think I've been in there in the last decade. I'd have to be really desperate to go there.

If I feel like a larger burger, which isn't very often, I'll usually avoid the chains altogether and go to one of the smaller independent places.

I never understood the appeal of Wendy's either. I've only eaten there once, and that was when they opened their first location in the city.

Their quality has gotten better. Their jr Bacon Cheeseburgers actually taste fresher and moister compared to the flat, dry burgers before.

Actually, here is a interesting tidbit which I was quite shocked to hear recently. Wendy's has actually surpassed BK as the #2 fast chain in the US behind McDonald's.

I used to deliver food to them when I lived in the states for a while. Ever since then, I do not go into Wendy's. Their misleading adverts are also another reason I avoid them at all costs.

Over the years, they have always had better salad and chicken options...wish they still had the salad bar.

Fries are so so...though I like the baked potato option.

Harvey's is still my favorite of these low end chains.

I go for the full-size Apple Pecan salad, love the dressing and never had issues in terms of freshness. I will say though I refuse to go to Wendy's in the States, I find the Wendy's down there horribly inconsistent in terms of quality and cleanliness compared to Wendy's in Canada.

Wendy's uses fresh, not frozen or precooked meat, do any other fast food chains? I'm really not sure.

They are smaller than most, but I find two jr.s is perfect. For $3+ thats not bad.

Also use fresher toppings than most places. Tomatoes are cut in the morning ect.

It's something different. Wendy's to me does not taste quite like McDs or BK. A&W is even more different because they put their own special seasoning on the burgers; perhaps too much of it. It's different.

I guess it's up to the individual but I like that they use fresh(er) toppings like Harvey's unlike McDs who cut and vacuum their lettuce so it could be days old.
