Why does my screen goes blank after a period of inactivity?

Why does my screen goes blank after a period of inactivity? I disabled the screen saver and I disabled the option of the OS turning off the screen. Yet, the screen will still turn itself off after a period of inactivity.

Go to your power options and check to see if "Turn off the display" is set to some amount. Obviously if it is, change it to "never".

i have my screen setup to dim after a while of inactivity.. maybe urs is dimmed so much you can't see it

Try what IronSmack said, if this is a laptop also make sure you change the settings when its connected to the adapter and when its running on battery as they typically have different power profiles.

It's already set to never.

Did you install that PowerNap software that came on the CD? If so, uninstall it.
