Why are electronics in Canada so damn expensive compared to the Yanks'?
Even BB Canada's products are way more than the exchange rate compared to BB U.S. Just compare bestbuy.com with bestbuy.ca. The exchange rate is only 1.2:1. We are getting ripped off every single times.

Customs, Clearance, Transport
Most imports land in the US first since this is where most products will be moved... In Canada we are like the corner store because of the population difference... Products often come through the US to Canada.

tell me a business that simply converts currency using a fluctuating model and from a public website, and uses that amount to determine the retail price? It's not that simple.

lower volume in canada ... less competition ... higher profit margins and ... higher Cdn taxes: employment taxes, social services taxes, corporate taxes, property and services taxes, import duties
Don't buy from Best Buy ... most of the time there are cheaper alternatives OR buy it from the States.
