The film or show probably doesn't portray the brand in a favourable light and the company didn't give the okay for the brand to be used there, OR they made a bid to get the company to pay for product placement and the deal fell through.
Alternately, the producer of the show or film may not want to be seen as supporting the brand.

Why are some logos and brands blurred out on TV shows?
Even when it is blatantly obvious what is behind the blurred part.
This happens a lot on documentaries where you'll see somebody driving away, and the license plate is blurred, that is fine and makes sense.
But then the BMW logo, or Toyota or Mitsubishi logo is blurred out as well. It's not like people don't know what car it is.
What's the point of this practice if it doesn't really hide anything?
